The River of Dreams welcomes anglers to one of the most dynamic and consistent wild trout fisheries in the world. Operating from October 12th through May 7th, our season delivers non-stop action, characterized by prolific insect hatches, aggressive predatory behavior, and pristine water conditions.
Whether you love matching the hatch with tiny dry flies or skating large presentations across the surface, our distinct seasons offer a dream scenario for every angling style.
A Season of Superb Variety
- Spring (October – November) | Hatches & Streamer Paradise: The season kicks off with phenomenal stonefly and mayfly hatches. By mid-November, the first terrestrial action begins with the arrival of diverse beetle species. This period is also a certified streamer paradise, as resident trout feed aggressively on massive seasonal migrations of trout smolts.
- Summer (December – February) | Terrestrial & Surface Action: Stable weather brings heavy summer hatches and thrilling topwater action. This is the prime window for technical dry fly fishing and explosive surface strikes using beetle and mouse patterns.
- Fall (March – May) | Trophy Browns in Living Color: As the season winds down, our legendary brown trout transition into their vibrant, fiery pre-spawn colors. Driven by territorial aggression, these absolute trophies actively hunt the shallows, ruthlessly striking oversized streamers and large mouse patterns.
World-Class Spring Creek Sight Fishing
For the purist, our crystal-clear spring creeks offer unmatched technical fishing.
- Peak Window: The creeks fish exceptionally well from opening day until late December, when water levels naturally recede.
- The Rain Effect: A sudden rainfall instantly rejuvenates these spring-fed systems, triggering some of the most spectacular, adrenaline-pumping sight fishing imaginable.
- Trophy Potential: These waters are home to some of the most beautifully colored brown trout on earth. Fish here average an impressive 18 inches, with a remarkable number of trophies stretching well over 20 inches.
